I am an experienced communications professional with expertise in graphic design, photography and videography, social media, content creation, editing and web content management. Currently I serve as communications manager for SpiriTrust Lutheran, a not-for-profit agency based in York, Pennsylvania that delivers senior living, home care and hospice services to more than 23,000 people in 11 counties of Pennsylvania and three in Maryland. I manage the agency’s social media presence, oversee all creative design work, help maintain agency websites and serve as the agency’s chief photographer and videographer.
I have an extensive background in journalism, having served as a reporter, copy editor, news editor and design editor. During that time, I worked at some of the most recognized and honored news publications in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I started my career as a general assignment and sports reporter for the News-Item in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. From 2000-2014, I worked my way from copy editor to news editor of the Standard-Speaker newspaper in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. In 2014, I accepted a position at the York Daily Record in York, Pennsylvania as assistant editor of the Design Center, where I helped lead a team of 10 designers of four different regional newspapers. From there, I worked as managing editor for design at the Central Penn Business Journal, a business publication in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I was recognized by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association on multiple occasions for my page design, graphics/illustrations and headline writing.
